Tom Reiss

I occasionally hear from Jonathan in Carcassonne… and it’s usually when he needs me to create a new book cover for either his new book, or for books where he has supplied his editing services. Either way it’s always a pleasure working with Mr Veale and we work very well by email and phone.

This time the request was something special and time sensitive. If you read the book you will understand how crucial it was to get this published. The brief was simple. Tom wanted to convey an ideology that we communicate and understand best when we are children. The lesson: it really is a good idea to make the most of every day granted to you. He professes to know less and less about life as he poignantly, and with good humour, reflects upon his own.

We talked about what inspired him most about his book. I created an illustration for the cover and presented Tom with several designs. With several proofs going back and forward to France and London, Tom quickly picked the one he liked.

I created a full print dust jacket cover and e-book cover including images used inside the book to illustrate sections of reflection, which were used for social media and a new website. Click the button below to find the book on Amazon.

Brilliant! We love the jumping boy title cover. It is just perfect. I wanted to let you know that a copy of the book arrived today. It looks wonderful and is testimony to an amazing effort by everyone concerned. I am proofing while I try to extinguish the permanent smile. Thanks Fiona, you were wonderful.
